Domaine Tempier’s “Lulu et Lucien” 2021 offers deep garnet-purple color with an alluring nose of ripe blackberries, cassis, licorice, tobacco, leather, and a hint of garrigue herbs. On the palate, it is medium-full with radiant fruit framed by elegantly fresh, supple tannins. The 18–20 months in oak foudres provide a plush mid-palate and a long, minty finish that lingers. It’s a harmonious cuvée ready now but will continue to evolve, developing tertiary notes of undergrowth, leather, and spices with age. Best paired with ratatouille.
