This Regnié wine, from the Beaujolais appellation, has a beautiful purple color that reflects the granite terroir from which it comes, which lightens with age. Somewhat volatile, the nose offers a beautiful range of aromas of red fruits, redcurrants, and raspberries. The palate is full-bodied and structured, moving from fruit to animal and floral notes. The delicate and supple finish coats the palate with hints of violet. Well-structured, this wine will open up after a few years of aging.
To produce this wine, which is best enjoyed with fine cuts of meat such as veal chops in cream sauce or braised veal grenadines, Georges Descombes has devoted himself to the healthy cultivation of the Gamay grapes used to make it. These are therefore grown according to organic principles. In the cellar, the idea is to help it reveal its full potential and all the mysteries of its little-known appellation. Indigenous yeasts are used to initiate fermentation, and vinification takes place in inert containers.
