With origins dating back to 936, Roc d’Anglade rose to fame in the 17th century when Louis XIV served it at his court. So impressed, he awarded the wine the Blason Viticole in 1696. Each component is aged separately in 30 hl wooden foudres before blending, followed by 12 months of bottle aging in the estate’s cellars. It shows a ruby color, with a nose of cherry, redcurrant, and black fruits. The palate is powerful and refined, with firm tannins that offer excellent aging potential. Best paired with lamb.
Grape variety : Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault
