The 2022 “Les Royes” from Domaine Courbis is a standout Saint‑Joseph Blanc crafted exclusively from old‑vine Marsanne grown on dramatic clay‑limestone terraces near Cornas. After 16 months on fine lees in a mix of new and once-used oak barrels, it pours a rich golden hue and opens with inviting floral aromas (acacia blossom, white flowers) layered with ripe pear, almond, and melted vanilla. On the palate, it offers a powerful yet elegant balance; textured and ample, yet refined by fresh mineral tension and vibrant acidity. The long, silky finish carries gentle honeyed notes and toasted hazelnut. This expressive wine will pair best with aged cheeses.
