This vibrant and youthful 2022 red from Domaine Fouassier displays an expressive, robust character. The nose reveals cooked black fruit and earthy humus, showcasing a distinctly mineral and deep profile. Natural vinification with indigenous yeasts, including cold pre-fermentation maceration followed by 3 weeks maceration and several months aging in terracotta amphorae, gives the wine a supple, fruit-forward yet structured palate. The wine is concentrated, with ripe red fruit flavors, crisp acidity, a gentle tannic grip, and a mineral backbone; true to Sancerre’s style. Best paired with a cheese and meat charcuterie.
