Domaine Montbarbon’s 2023 “Les Trois Terroirs” is a vibrant, terroir-driven Chardonnay that unites three limestone-kissed vineyards in Viré‑Clessé. It pours pale gold with green highlights and offers a fragrant bouquet of citrus zest, white orchard fruits (apple, white peach), fresh almond, delicate honeysuckle, and subtle brioche. The palate is round and generous, interweaving juicy fruit with a saline, mineral undercurrent and lively acidity; thanks to fine lees aging on these mineral-rich soils. The finish is long, fresh, and elegantly structured. A refined, food-friendly white with 5–10 years of aging potential. Best with seared scallops.
